Opening up Office 2007 XML documents in Office 2003 - XSL - XML

On our network, we have a number of Office 2007 PCs and one Office 2003 PC.
We store all of our Word documents as Word 2007 XML. The Office 2003 PC
cannot read these files. We have installed the Office Compatibility Pack on
the Office 2003 PC. When we double on a Word file in Explorer, it opens the
document in XML tag view, not as a readable Word document.

Does anyone know whether this problem is solvable? Thanks.

I had to get in the habit of right-clicking the file, in explorer, and
choosing Open With, and you can eventually get it to open in Word2003.
Wouldn't it be easier to save them in Word2003 format in the first
place?
